In the penultimate week of our summer blog ’10 reasons to visit the Llŷn Peninsula’, we are talking about food and drink! Being a foodie, I am happy to share my favourite places to go to enjoy amazing local food and beer. We are lucky enough to have a beekeeper from Pwllheli who keeps six hives on our land. Honey therefore could not be more local, and you can pick up spring, summer and autumn Mêl Llŷn honey from independent shops on the peninsula including the food shed Y Cwt Wyau. If you are driving to Aberdaron, it is worth stopping to see shelves laden with home baked cakes and cookies, fresh eggs and local vegetables. Once in Aberdaron, you are spoilt for choice with Becws Islyn Bakery, two pubs serving food, café’s and Sblash. A holiday is not a holiday without fish and chips, and I eat mine on the beach or picnic benches to take in the view.
In Morfa Nefyn and Nefyn, local fishermen sell their catch including crabs and lobsters. Cwrw Llŷn brews small batches of craft beers and their tap room is the best place to learn their inspiring story about how the brewery developed.

Number 31- within a five-minute walk of Tafarn Yr Heliwr which is Nefyn’s community pub. There are always activities for children as well as local musicians playing. This bungalow sleeps 7 and is dog friendly.
Number 55- a cottage in an orchard a few minutes’ walk away from the cultural and eco-centre with its social enterprise café at Felin Uchaf. Sleeps 5 and dog friendly.
