This house stands within extensive grounds, down a quiet country lane on the outskirts of the village.  Surrounded by fields, and with views to the mountains beyond, its hideaway position and its proximity to the beach ensures its popularity!  With beams, doors, and floors of dark oak, it comprises; lounge (with French doors opening out onto a rear patio and lawned area), Sky TV (basic package), DVD player, hi-fi with CD; and the option of a coal fire (coal is not provided); well-equipped, bespoke kitchen in solid pine with worktops of local granite, double oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer/drier etc.  Adjoining the kitchen there is a breakfast room with TV, which leads to a separate dining room - for larger parties both rooms can be used at mealtimes.  From the hall, an oak staircase leads up to 3 bedrooms, (one of which is a master bedroom with a queen sized bed which can be separated into 2 singles), and a bespoke bathroom/shower, again in pine, with a separate toilet.  Duvets provided - no linen.  Fitted stairgate.  Electricity included.  Storage heating at £15 per week by arrangement.  There are two oil-fired cast iron stoves in the entrance hall and dining room - if these are required, an extra charge of £20 applies.  Patio furniture.  Friday changeovers.  Pet welcome.

MORFA NEFYN: HISTORY
Situated midway along the north coast of the Lleyn Peninsula, just over a mile away from its larger neighbour Nefyn, lies MORFA NEFYN, a quiet, pretty seaside village which, together with Porth Dinllaen, forms an almost perfect semi circle with headlands at either end and backed by low cliffs. Archaeologists have dated the remains of Trwyn Dinllaen Iron Age Hill Fort, on the headland to the west, at around 100BC, Morfa Nefyn’s earliest known settlers. A walk along the headland today shows little evidence of their existence, (the Fort is obscured by the modern Nefyn Golf Course), but is compensated for by the magnificent views across the bay and towards the mountains of Yr Eifl. The Iron Age settlers certainly knew how to choose their spot!

Morfa Nefyn’s heyday was in the nineteenth century, with coastal trading and fishing being the main industries and the reason behind the village’s growth. Speculation persisted in the early part of the century about the possibility of making Morfa Nefyn the gateway port to Ireland, but it narrowly missed out in a government vote, when Holyhead was chosen instead.

MORFA NEFYN TODAY
One of its main attractions today is the long sheltered sandy beach, which offers safe bathing, boating, water sports and excellent walks across the beach to the picturesque village of Porth Dinllaen and Lifeboat Bay. It has, quite understandably, become a firm favourite family seaside holiday destination for those seeking an alternative to the busier resort of Abersoch.
