Situated down a narrow country lane on the edge of Morfa Nefyn, this caravan is within two minutes of the cliff-top walk which joins the bays of Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn.  Just outside the grounds is the delightful Pwll Willam (William’s Pool) a small pond in a truly idyllic setting, which provides an ideal backdrop for a picnic, and where successive generations of children have launched their inflatable boats from its small jetty.  (Please note that during particularly dry summers, the pond has been known to dry up completely).
Accommodation comprises: comfortable lounge/diner with gas fire, TV, and DVD.  Within the well-equipped kitchen area there is a full-size gas cooker, fridge, microwave etc.  There are two bedrooms, as well as a double pull-out bed in the lounge area.  Shower room/toilet. Duvets provided - no linen.  Gas included in rental.  Electricity by £1 coin meter.  Laundry service available at a small extra charge, by arrangement with owner who lives in a cottage next door.  Large enclosed garden with patio set and barbecue.  Parking.  Friday changeovers. No pets.

MORFA NEFYN: HISTORY
Situated midway along the north coast of the Lleyn Peninsula, just over a mile away from its larger neighbour Nefyn, lies MORFA NEFYN, a quiet, pretty seaside village which, together with Porth Dinllaen, forms an almost perfect semi circle with headlands at either end and backed by low cliffs. Archaeologists have dated the remains of Trwyn Dinllaen Iron Age Hill Fort, on the headland to the west, at around 100BC, Morfa Nefyn’s earliest known settlers. A walk along the headland today shows little evidence of their existence, (the Fort is obscured by the modern Nefyn Golf Course), but is compensated for by the magnificent views across the bay and towards the mountains of Yr Eifl. The Iron Age settlers certainly knew how to choose their spot!

Morfa Nefyn’s heyday was in the nineteenth century, with coastal trading and fishing being the main industries and the reason behind the village’s growth. Speculation persisted in the early part of the century about the possibility of making Morfa Nefyn the gateway port to Ireland, but it narrowly missed out in a government vote, when Holyhead was chosen instead.

MORFA NEFYN TODAY
One of its main attractions today is the long sheltered sandy beach, which offers safe bathing, boating, water sports and excellent walks across the beach to the picturesque village of Porth Dinllaen and Lifeboat Bay. It has, quite understandably, become a firm favourite family seaside holiday destination for those seeking an alternative to the busier resort of Abersoch.
