4 Bed | (1D) (1D) (2S) (2S) | Sleeps 8 + Cot

Set within its own well-tended grounds of over half an acre, this delightful house presents a rare opportunity to rent a superior period property in such close proximity to Morfa Nefyn’s beach and golf course.  Within three minutes walk of the beach, and with the popular Cliffs Inn and restaurant nearby, it is in an ideal location.  Sympathetically restored, it retains many of its original period features and affords exceptional comfort coupled with a warm and welcoming ambience of a well-loved and cared-for old house.

With its Aga cooker, microwave/combi oven, electric hob, fridge, dishwasher, pull-out ironing board and large dining table, the hub of this house is, undoubtedly the large, well-equipped kitchen/diner - ideal for entertaining family and friends.  There is a separate utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, and fridge/freezer, and thanks to a central water purifying system, the whole house enjoys filtered tap water.  With its original Edwardian fireplace, the lounge has a TV with DVD player, an assortment of DVD’s, CD music centre, and a well-stocked games chest.

There are four well-appointed bedrooms (all with their original fireplaces), one of which is on the ground floor, next to a shower room/toilet.  The three other bedrooms are upstairs and include a master bedroom with a king-size bed.  On this floor there are two further bathrooms, both with showers.  Bed linen and electricity charges are included in the rental.  Oil fired central heating available by prior arrangement and pre-payment of £30 per week.  The extensive grounds (some areas of which can be closed off for younger members of the party, others are only partly enclosed thus not entirely child/dog proof), are ideal for playing football or a cricket challenge.  To the side of the house, at the front, there is a patio area, complete with barbecue and patio furniture......and that all-important sea view!  Ample parking for cars/boats/trailers etc.  Whereas two well-behaved dogs are most welcome, out of consideration to others, they are not, under any circumstances, to be allowed in the bedrooms.  First pet free of charge.  Second pet at £10 per week.  Week commencing 2/6 charged at £1,200 per week.  Week commencing 14/7 charged at A rate.

In Price Band D we are pleased to offer a Couples Discount of £100 per week (excluding any half term or school holiday weeks).

A Security Deposit of £100 is payable to the owner 14 days before the holiday start date.

Basic Cancellation Cover is not available on this property -  own travel insurance highly recommended.

3-night short breaks in price band D at £430. *Short breaks available by phone/email booking only.

MORFA NEFYN: HISTORY
Situated midway along the north coast of the Lleyn Peninsula, just over a mile away from its larger neighbour Nefyn, lies MORFA NEFYN, a quiet, pretty seaside village which, together with Porth Dinllaen, forms an almost perfect semi circle with headlands at either end and backed by low cliffs. Archaeologists have dated the remains of Trwyn Dinllaen Iron Age Hill Fort, on the headland to the west, at around 100BC, Morfa Nefyn’s earliest known settlers. A walk along the headland today shows little evidence of their existence, (the Fort is obscured by the modern Nefyn Golf Course), but is compensated for by the magnificent views across the bay and towards the mountains of Yr Eifl. The Iron Age settlers certainly knew how to choose their spot!

Morfa Nefyn’s heyday was in the nineteenth century, with coastal trading and fishing being the main industries and the reason behind the village’s growth. Speculation persisted in the early part of the century about the possibility of making Morfa Nefyn the gateway port to Ireland, but it narrowly missed out in a government vote, when Holyhead was chosen instead.

MORFA NEFYN TODAY
One of its main attractions today is the long sheltered sandy beach, which offers safe bathing, boating, water sports and excellent walks across the beach to the picturesque village of Porth Dinllaen and Lifeboat Bay. It has, quite understandably, become a firm favourite family seaside holiday destination for those seeking an alternative to the busier resort of Abersoch.
