Situated in the unspoilt hamlet of Uwchmynydd, amidst what must be the finest scenery in north Wales, this is a paradise for bird watchers, walkers, or those who simply love the countryside. Within a couple of miles you’ll find the picturesque fishing village of Aberdaron, where in earlier times, pilgrims to Bardsey would stay the night at the Gegin Fawr hostelry (now a cafe). From the house, you can see the path which leads down to Ffynnon Fair (St. Mary’s Well), where those who were unable to make the crossing because of the weather and treacherous tidal race, would make their way, counting their pilgrimage complete as they celebrated mass and drank from the well’s waters. Today’s crossing point at Porth Meudwy (Hermit’s cove) is within a few minutes’ drive, and there is a choice of little coves and sandy beaches all within reach. Add to this the fact that, just around the corner, there is a renowned seafood restaurant, then who could want for anything more! Accommodation comprises: comfortable lounge with Sky TV, DVD, video, electric fire, and a patio door with an uninterrupted sea view; well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room with oil-fired Rayburn range cooker (off in hot weather), double ring electric hob, Baby Belling cooker, fridge, microwave, dishwasher etc.; dining room; utility room with washing machine; and a downstairs bathroom/toilet. Upstairs, there are 3 well-fitted bedrooms (all enjoying a view), as well as a shower room/toilet. Z-bed available. Duvets provided - no linen. Electricity included. Oil-fired central heating, by prior arrangement, at £30 per week. Ample grounds with patio furniture and parking. Sunday changeovers. Couples discount of £40 per week in periods B and C, and £30 in period D.
